Dan Har­mon spe­cial­izes in probate, estate, and trust admin­is­tra­tion mat­ters and the devel­op­ment of estate tax plan­ning strate­gies designed to help his clients achieve max­i­mum sav­ings in income, cap­i­tal gain, estate, gift and gen­er­a­tion skip­ping taxes. He han­dles the tra­di­tional aspects of per­sonal estate plan­ning, such as the prepa­ra­tion of revo­ca­ble trusts, wills and irrev­o­ca­ble trusts, and also is equipped to deal with all aspects of tax con­tro­ver­sies with the Inter­nal Rev­enue Ser­vice deal­ing with estate, gift and gen­er­a­tion skip­ping tax, includ­ing rep­re­sent­ing clients in appeals of tax defi­cien­cies. Mr. Har­mon is admit­ted to prac­tice before the United States Tax Court.

As part of his prac­tice, Mr. Har­mon mon­i­tors the lat­est devel­op­ments in both tax and non-​​tax laws affect­ing estates and trusts. He is pro­fi­cient in ana­lyz­ing and imple­ment­ing the lat­est tech­niques to reduce estate and gift taxes, includ­ing, for exam­ple, fam­ily lim­ited part­ner­ships, grantor retained annu­ity trusts and char­i­ta­ble remain­der and lead trusts.

He also advises clients on the income, gift and estate tax con­se­quences of char­i­ta­ble gifts; han­dles the nego­ti­a­tion and prepa­ra­tion of mar­i­tal agree­ments; pro­vides asset pro­tec­tion plan­ning for indi­vid­u­als; devel­ops strate­gies for the tran­si­tion of busi­ness assets from gen­er­a­tion to gen­er­a­tion; Advises the bereaved in post-​​mortem tax plan­ning and elec­tions; and has exten­sive expe­ri­ence in the estab­lish­ment of pri­vate and pub­licly sup­ported char­i­ta­ble and non-​​profit orga­ni­za­tions. His office is also expe­ri­enced in han­dling estate and trust lit­i­ga­tion.
